Sand Point Generating
SPG is a seasoned utility operator and energy services contractor with expertise in remote location logistics and the use of renewable energies in critical operating environments.
The company developed its remote expertise as the primary power provider in Sand Point, Alaska, supplying vital power to more than 1,000 residential, commercial, and industrial customers in the Aleutian Island community.
Since acquiring the utility in 2000, SPG has consistently maintained reliability and adapted to the changing demands of the growing community and advancing technology. In 2011, in response to rising fuel costs and the company’s commitment to sustainable energy, SPG integrated a 1-MW wind farm into its system. Diesel consumption is estimated to drop 140,000 gallons per year as a result.
Led by a strong management and core operational team, SPG has developed strategic alliances and partnerships; established a network of subcontractors throughout Alaska, the Lower 48, and abroad; and expanded our capabilities to offer a multitude of energy sector services to meet your mission requirements.

What our clients say:
" I am very excited about the Tin City wind turbine energy project. This important milestone for the 611th Air Support Group will be the first renewable Air Force energy project in Alaska and is very timely, given the cost of fuel. Wind energy at Tin City should decrease our annual fuel consumption by 30 to 35%, about 85,000 gallons."
